Do you know someone who has never attended the VSWO convention but needs some help with registration and hotel fees? We have the answer: the Sophie Wilson Grant!
Sophie was the second president of the VSWO. She was very active in our organization as well as the Women of the ELCA. She is one of the women whose shoulders this amazing community was built on. She may not have been able in many years to be active on the synodical level but I know she has supported us in her prayers and when possible in her unit.
To honor this wonderful woman, many years ago, the Sophie Wilson Grant was established to help first time attendee come to convention. Please if you know of someone in your congregation that would like to attend convention encourage them to apply for the grant. We have several still available and we have extended the deadline to 5/15/2026.
