Conference and Unit News

Everyone always asks “How do we get younger women involved in our women’s organization?” Well your VSWO board has an idea. It is called Young Women Guests. Each conference will choose a young woman, 40 years old or younger, to be the guest of the VSWO at our 2011 convention at Roanoke College. All her convention expenses will be covered by the VSWO. She will be a participant and can not serve as a delegate and can not have been part of the program last year. It is truly a blessing to have them be part of our convention.

Now you may ask yourself “How do we choose this young woman?” The board is leaving that up to each conference to decide how to do this. You are in the best position to identify a woman that would benefit from this program.

You may have other young women in your conference that would be interested in attending our convention. Unfortunately the VSWO can only afford to sponsor 11 but please consider having your unit or church sponsor any additional young women.
